Sometimes you just have to trust the people that are in the know; those that are closest to a situation; like Oilers' analyst and personality Bob Stauffer, who says he's '102% certain that Connor McDavid signs' with Edmonton.

Of Course, when Connor McDavid himself continues to cast uncertainty on when, and if, he will, in fact, sign with the Oilers, you can excuse fans for being a tad skeptical, as when McDavid said this recently on the 32 Thoughts Podcast:
"Nothing's changed as of now. As I said all along, and I've said since June, I'm going to take my time, and I still intend to do that. It's a big decision, and it's not something I take lightly, or my family takes lightly. Everything in my life has been building to be here and be in this position and be in this moment, and it's not something that I'm just going to dream and decide. I'm going to think it over, and we have been, and we'll continue to do so.»

Now insider Bob Stauffer has addressed the situation on OilersNow, and is holding steady that McDavid will stay in Edmonton.
Look, the number one story in hockey is Connor McDavid's status with the Edmonton Oilers. I am remaining at my 102% that McDavid signs some form of an extension with the Oilers. I work for the Oilers Entertainment Group, okay? I'm telling you, I'm steadfast at 102%.

- Bob Stauffer

Despite Bob Stauffer's certainty, these are nonetheless interesting times in Oilers' land, with training camp on the go and a number of new players, roles up for grabs, Hyman's injury, goaltending issues, and a number of important pending-free agents, not the least of which is McDavid.
In fact, some believed Connor was ready to announce a signing, when he was seen walking back-stage a Commonwealth Stadium concert with musical artist Morgan Wallen - thought he'd announce his signing to the 55K in attendance.
Like I said, interesting times. Of course, Connor McDavid did not announce his signing at the concert, and when that will be is anyone's guess, even with Mr. Stauffer's '102%' certainty.
One thing is certain, however, and that is Connor McDavid is an Edmonton Oiler for the 2025-26 season. It's the Captain's focus to win a Stanley Cup with Edmonton. Let's hang on to that in the meantime.
