The NHL season is ready to restart tomorrow and during a post practice scrum, Oilers center Ryan Nugent Hopkins confirmed that defenseman Ty Emberson was the only American cheering for Team USA.
He mentioned that all players were watching the game and Emerson was the only player pulling for Team USA who lost 3-2 against Team Canada in a brilliant game that had both countries on the edge of their seat all night.
Emberson has less money today than yesterday
Nuge confirmed that Emberson likely has several bets to play as Emerson had several bets going between other Canadian players.
This tournament has been deemed a success across the NHL, their pundits and the fan base as the players had gone all in in their efforts to promote the tournament which will likely remain with the NHL for many years to come.
Oilers ready to start a long trip
But the tournament over and the team ready to resume their season, the Oilers are set to play a five-game road trip which will be on the East Coast starting in Philadelphia where they will take on the Flyers.
The Oilers then will take on the Capitals, Lightning, Panthers and Hurricanes before they head back to Edmonton to face the Ducks on March 4th.
With two weeks remaining between now and the trade deadline, news and rumors will continue to swell as the Oilers prepare for the stretch run of the season and potentially new players on their roster.
It remains to be seen on how the 10-day break will fare in their momentum as the Oilers wish to finish strong and try to take the Pacific Division title.
