Rumors swirling around Jake Walman's departure from former team in trade

Rumors and stories have been surfacing about Oilers newly acquired defenseman Jake Walman and his departure with the Detroit Red Wings as several people have stated he is an issue in the dressing room.
After signing a three-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings worth $10.2 million on February 28 2023, the Red Wings chose to trade him to the San Jose Sharks along with a second-round pick in 2024 for future considerations which caused many to question why this deal was made.
Stories of issues in the Red Wings dressing room
The Red Wings have been a team that's been in flux for the past several years as they have not made the playoffs for well over a decade and reports of infighting and issues in the dressing room have been surfacing.
Many fans have pointed the finger to Walman as a key contributor to the issues in the room and likely the reason why the Red Wings sent him to the Sharks for such a low return.
Others have pointed to management and coaching as the cause of the issues and clearly the coaching staff was part of the problem.
Head coach Derek Lalonde was fired earlier this year have that Red Wings hired former Oilers head coach Todd McLellan who has seen a dramatic turnaround in their game in a short time.

Walman gets chance to wipe slate clean with the Oilers
Now with the slate clean and a fresh start, Walman well now I have a chance to work with a contending team in the Oilers.
It's safe to say that assisted coach and Oilers legend Paul Coffey will get a quick assessment on Walman and evaluate whether he is an issue in the room or not.
The Oilers are in a win now mode and do not have time or interest in dealing with any problems that players could bring to their organization.
Walman will fit on their blue line in the second pairing as it will solidify their position as the team prepares for the stretch run and the opening round of the playoffs.
Many feel that this trade was a good deal for the Oilers considering the little they had to give which could also be another alarm bell much like the Red Wings when they sent him to San Jose.
No matter the case, the Oilers will welcome him in and expect him to perform to the level that the Oilers are looking for.
