With his Elite play of late, Oilers' forward Jack Roslovic has put himself in the conversation of a potential contract extension, effective January 1, 2026.
For those who follow the Edmonton Oilers, Jack Roslovic has been a welcomed breath of fresh air, providing his team with some life when it appeared, well, lifeless.
Roslovic scores key goal against his old club
Roslovic was signed to a one-year, $1.5M contract after remaining a free agent late into the offseason than expected. His strong performance on this bargain contract has made him a valuable acquisition.
After a slow start, Roslovic has become a key player, providing crucial offense for the Oilers while they dealt with an injury to
Zach Hyman, and continues to with
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins out with injury.
In the 18 games he's played this year, Jack has scored 6G and 8A, is a plus-6 in goal differential, with an average TOI of 17:24, and a Faceoff Win rate of 56.0%. It doesn't get much better than that.
He has recorded 11 points in his last 10 games, second only to
Connor McDavid over that span, 5G and 6A.
Also, he has as many game-winning goals (2) as the rest of the Oilers lineup over those 10 games. He's scoring key goals, and he's looked very comfortable on the first unit power play as well as playing right wing with
Leon Draisaitl.
Roslovic became the second player in franchise history to score overtime goals in consecutive games, securing victories against the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 10 and the Philadelphia Flyers on November 12.
With these kinds of performances, a contract extension for Roslovic will certainly be discussed come January 1, with the only discussion being for how long.
