The Edmonton Oilers are still anticipating the return of Zach Hyman, but may still have to wait a bit longer.
Edmonton Oilers coach delays Zach Hyman return, Janmark return imminent
Coach Knoblauch spoke to reporters after practice, and revealed the full updated injury timelines. Mattias Janmark will return within the next 2 games, but Hyman could still be up to a week away.
Additionally,
Alec Regula will begin mixing into the lineup once again after suffering an injury in the second game of the season.
It's unfortunate that Zach Hyman could be still another week away from finally entering the lineup. Hyman is still recovering from a lengthy surgery after getting injured against the Dallas Stars last playoffs.
Hyman's been skating on his own frequently through the start of the year, and has been ramping up activity at practice. He should be not too far away from coming back.
When Hyman does join the lineup, expect him to take the first line right wing position alongside McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins.
And of course, the Oilers have a total surplus of NHL talent on their roster. When both Janmark and Hyman return, the Oilers will need to make some tough roster cuts. Hopefully, their decisions will improve the roster from its current state.
