Oilers reveal rosters for first preseason games against Calgary Flames

The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames will be back in split-squad action today for their first preseason games.
Unfortunately the games won't be broadcast on television for fans to watch. The games in Calgary will be shown for free on the Flames' website, but the games in Edmonton will be paid for on Oilers+.
Oilers rosters revealed for first 2 preseason games against Calgary Flames
In Edmonton, the Oilers will bring out a few sure-fire NHLers to play against a rookie-heavy Flames roster. Trent Frederic, Matthew Savoie, Vasily Podkolzin, Darnell Nurse, and Jake Walman will headline the group in Edmonton.
Notably, fans will get their first look at David Tomasek in game action in Edmonton. The Czech free agent forward has turned heads in training camp, and could see top 6 minutes this year.
In Calgary, the Oilers will send their rookie-heavy roster to face off against some veteran Flames. Isaac Howard, Quinn Hutson, Roby Jarventie, Atro Leppanen, and two young goalies in Nathan Day and Samuel Jonsson will headline this group.

While the first preseason games aren't exactly meaningful hockey, each player will be trying to make their case to management for their best possible roles on the roster.
