Oilers organization appears to leak major information after win over Utah Hockey Club

The Oilers did end up paying a price for the win, with injuries sustained to four star players - Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Mattias Ekholm, and Zach Hyman.

After the blowout win, Edmonton Oilers took to social media to send out a victory message, and used the phrase «Mammoth win» - potentially hinting at their opponent adopting the team name Utah Mammoth.

Usually this would be just a minor coincidence or perhaps the Oilers organization reaching to guess the team's new name. However, there was a recent update that may have tipped the Oilers off.

According to sportswriter Dennis Dodd just two days ago, Utah has officially settled on their new nickname. An official announcement isn't out yet, but Mammoth is expected to be the front runner.

Plenty of Oilers fans took to social media in response to joke that the Oilers account leaked the Utah team name. While that may not be entirely accurate, the Oilers organization definitely made a good guess just after Utah decided on the name.

Just yesterday, a legal firm with Utah's management filed a trademark claim on the name Utah Mammoth. Previously, a trademark for Utah Yeti was denied.

All signs are pointing towards that being their new name, and hilariously, the Oilers decided to take the announcement their own direction with the win.
