Head coach Kris Knoblauch decided to put the line together as the Oilers have been ravaged by injuries over the past couple of weeks.
Knoblauch has reunited both McDavid and Brown with new line
This new line combination has a familiar look as Connor McDavid was once Connor Brown's linemate when both players were playing for the Erie Otters prior to their NHL stardom which seems to have reignited their chemistry.
Adding Skinner into the mix gives them a veteran presence along with another skilled scorer as he has done so over his career with other teams.
The Oilers are trying to finish their season and minimizing their injuries as the team has suffered several key injuries including
Leon Draisaitl,
Mattias Ekholm, Ryan Nugent Hopkins,
Zach Hyman who are either all on the mend. Ekholm is likely to miss significant time due to a knee injury.
McDavid looks re-energized and dangerous once again
It's been two games since McDavid has returned to the lineup and he looks dangerous and re energized in his game after being away from the team since March 20th previously against the Winnipeg Jets.
In those two games, he has no goals but 7 assists and is a + 5 and has been influential in all goals scored for the Oilers.
The Oilers have two games remaining in their schedule which includes a home game against the Los Angeles Kings and their final game of the season will be on the road against the San Jose Sharks on April 16th.
Oilers fans will be prepared to face off against the LA Kings for a fourth season in a row and as the Oilers return from their injuries, the team will strengthen and will give them a better chance to move on in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Game time will be 10:00 PM eastern against the Kings.
