Oilers make key announcement on training camp, reveal full roster
The Edmonton Oilers' training camp is set to begin tomorrow morning at Rogers Place with 55 skaters and goaltenders reporting to the team.
On-ice activities are slotted to begin on September 18th, with the preseason kicking off on the 21st with split-squad games. The team will be finalizing their roster, and aren't expected to add any players on tryout deals.
Edmonton Oilers announce training camp invitee roster, media availability tomorrow
The Oilers took to social media today to announce their full roster of training camp invitees. The list includes all expected and prospective NHL players, as well as many prospects expected to play in the minors.
As players report for medicals and fitness testing, GM Stan Bowman and a select group of players are expected to address the media.
Bowman will likely be asked to confirm that there are in fact no PTO candidates attending camp, as well as any more critical updates on the McDavid contract negotiations.
Oilers training camp will see several battles for depth positions
Entering training camp, a number of players on the fringes will be looking to secure their places in the Oilers' opening night lineup.
With training camp kicking off, NHL hockey is finally right around the corner after a long offseason. The Oilers will be entering the year more motivated than ever before to get back to the Cup Final, and finally win it all.
