Edmonton Oilers targeting Kings top six forward in free agency
According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Edmonton Oilers are showing interest in signing former Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson this offseason.
»The club has reportedly been keeping an eye on Los Angeles Kings unrestricted free agent winger Viktor Arvidsson, Daily Faceoff'sFrank Seravalli said Tuesday on Oilersnation Everyday.»
Viktor Arvidsson is a solid middle six winger, but one who has had some issues staying healthy. Arvidsson only played 18 games for the Kings this season, although he was fantastic in that time scoring 15 points in that span.
Arvidsson would be great to put in the top 6, as the Oilers are always looking for productive wingers. Arvidsson is a great passer who can find lanes and is always ready to play in front of the net. He would also be a fantastic option to add to that second powerplay to try and ignite the goal scoring with guys like Kane and Holloway.
Arvidsson could be great for the Oilers, but would be prone to an overpay for a contract. He is looking for around 5M on his next contract, with an indeterminate amount of term. If he can't stay health it could be a huge risk, but he could be a massively productive player for the Oilers to acquire.
