Game 4 in the Stanley Cup playoffs has given Oilers forward Jeff Skinner new life as he has played a great game and appears to prove the Oilers coaching staff wrong in their decisions.

Skinner has remained on the sidelines for the first three games of the series but tonight has shown that he as a veteran is proving his worth on several fronts.

Skinner trending up quickly with his play

Throughout the game, Skinner has been a past to many of the Panthers players as he even gave Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov a pat on the back as he skated past just to get under his skin.
As the game has stretched on, Skinner has trended upward so well that he is leading the expected goals percentage by any Oilers forward.
It seems odd that head coach Kris Knoblauch has no faith in Skinner over the past couple of weeks as the games that he has played he has been effective playing two games, scoring one goal with one assist for two points and is a - 1.
This is the moment that Skinner is relishing being in the Stanley Cup finals considering he has played six seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and never saw the playoffs once. He is trying to make the most of his chances despite not getting many from his coach.

Oilers looking to tie series before heading home

Game 4 is paramount for the Oilers to tie up the series before they leave Florida and head back to Edmonton for Game 5.
After their disastrous Game 3, the Oilers have appeared far better in Game 4 and have dominated at times.
Adjusting like adding Skinner to the lineup certainly will throw off Panthers head coach Paul Maurice and force him to make changes as this series continues.
On top of everything going in Skinner's favour tonight, he had a fan in the building in Taylor Swift watching him. What a night for the guy.
Game 5 will take place on Saturday June 14th in game time will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
