Oilers announcer Jack Michaels calls incredible final moments of Game 5
Sports on television always has its great memories and during Game 5 in the dying minutes, Oilers announcer Jack Michaels sending a message to fans that the Oilers are coming home for Game 6.
The moment McDavid scored showed raw emotion from McDavid himself, Panthers general manager bill Zito who got up and threw his water bottle against the wall in disgust and anger and the television coverage panning back to Edmonton showing the fans going berserk in Rogers Place.
Michaels, has been the play by play announcer for the Oilers on 630 CHED since August 24th 2010. Later in 2013 he moved to television and by 2021 he was with sports net as the primary announcer for Oilers games. He is beloved by fans and gives a strong connection to the game and the team.
Michaels and Oilers fans will get to enjoy the improbable Game 6 as most felt the Oilers were not going to get this far in the series based on how it started.
However, the series is alive and thriving and all the momentum is behind the Oilers heading home and the team will continue its adage of one game at a time.
Game 6 will start on Friday June 21st and puck drop will be 8:00 PM eastern.
