Multiple Edmonton Oilers stars have returned to the ice for a summer training intensive with former NHL star Gary Roberts.
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl were just on a joint-honeymoon with their wives following Draisaitl's wedding in France, and have now apparently returned to Canada to begin their pre-season training.
Multiple core Edmonton Oilers hit the ice with Gary Roberts' training camp
The offseason is now officially drawing to a close as Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and
Darnell Nurse got back onto the ice at Gary Roberts' High Performance Training camp in Ontario.
Zach Hyman also was able to get around to linking up with Gary Roberts recently, but his training is still limited by his wrist brace after recovering from surgery.
Now 59 years old, Gary Roberts is still a monumental figure in modern hockey after playing a fantastic career. Roberts played 1224 career games after being picked in the first round of the 1984 draft, spending time with the Flames, Hurricanes, Maple Leafs, Panthers, Penguins, and Lightning.
For years now, Roberts has held a strength, conditioning, and skills camp that's attracted the top-level talent across the NHL. Roberts is still famous for being in peak physical shape, and he's passing down the knowledge to more players.
Interestingly, this group of Oilers players was also the select few that appeared with Connor McDavid for a few training sessions in Newmarket, Ontario earlier this summer.
It's great to see the Oilers core group getting back out on the ice already and preparing for the upcoming season with unfinished business on the line.
