According to analyst Caleb Kerney, the Edmonton Oilers must do all they can to acquire 22 year-old, and highly-touted right-wing Fabian Lysell from the Boston Bruins.
Analysts across the NHL suggest Boston Bruins are attempting to make deal with the Oilers for young winger
Since the first report of Lysell's availability became available this week, several Insiders have written about how the talented winger would fill a need for the Oilers.
According to one report, grit and talent is the formula the Florida Panthers have adapted to win two-straight Stanley Cups. Players like
Sam Bennett, last year's Conn Smythe winner,
Brad Marchand and Keith Tkachuk all have grit and skill.
Oilers' newcomer
Trent Frederic certainly has the grit portion of that equation covered; and of course, the skill portion can be spread across much of the Oilers' lineup, in particular where McDavid and Draisaitl are concerned.
Rumored to be involved in a potential trade with the Bruins, one cannot have enough skill and grit. Fabian Lysell would make a valuable addition to the Oilers' roster. He would fit in nicely with Howard and Savoie, players that have similar skills to his, and could ne potential future core-players.
Fabian has excellent speed, stickhandling, and ability, and is considered to be a dynamic threat. The 2021 1st-round pick has led scouts to project he will be a top-6 NHL player.
According to an Elite Prospects Scouting Report Lysell has a high hockey IQ, has nearly-perfect skating form, two-step quickness, and excellent puck handling. He is an all-around offensive threat, by most accounts.
He is precisely the kind of player that fits the Oilers' system of dynamic offense and quickness.
