Last night against the Los Angeles Kings, the Edmonton Oilers wore their navy blue third jerseys for the last time.

The alternate jerseys were last scheduled to be worn last night, and it's now rumoured it will be the last time the Oilers wear these jerseys at all, with a new third jersey believed to be in the works as the NHL transitions to Nike and Fanatics manufacturing jerseys.

The much darker navy jerseys became very popular with much of the fanbase, and became a regular jersey for the 2022 playoffs. These jerseys have been in some of the biggest Oilers moments and the biggest of McDavid's career specifically, and it will be tough to see them go.

Plenty of fans voiced their sadness to see the navy jerseys go, and some also shared the more controversial opinion that they weren't as good.

Hopefully the design team creating the next alternate jersey knocks it out of the park just like these jerseys did. Plus, it's always exciting to get some new threads!
