Connor McDavid reached the incredible career milestone of 1000 career points on November 14, and now, the Oilers have announced a pre-game ceremony to honour McDavid's accomplishment.

On December 5th before the Edmonton Oilers play the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Oilers organization will honour McDavid with a video tribute and gifts from his teammates.

The NHL shared a press release detailing the planned events for the ceremony.

»McDavid will be presented with a golden stick and commemorative Tiffany crystal for his accomplishment - and fellow Oilers players will present their captain with a gift from his teammates.»

Connor McDavid will be joined by his family at center ice prior to the game for the entire event, as well. Connor's parents, siblings, and his newlywed wife Lauren Kyle will surely be there.

It will be an incredible moment for McDavid personally, and for all Oilers fans to celebrate his career to this point.

McDavid's 1000th point was a pure storybook moment, and a goal that Oilers fans will always remember. Streaking down the ice on a 2 on 1, Draisaitl dished McDavid a perfect pass, and the Captain fired it home with authority.

Every Oilers player came off the bench to celebrate with McDavid for the historic point, and the crowd at Rogers Place went nuts.

Draisaitl had even guaranteed prior to the game that McDavid would be sure to get the milestone on home ice in front of the Edmonton fans, and they followed through to deliver an incredible moment.

Oilers fans in attendance for the game on December 5th will be in for a treat - the one-time recognition for McDavid's first major career accomplishment.
