Draisaitl hilariously shuts down reporter for bad question in post game interview
Depending on the current record of the team, the Edmonton Oilers can have a bit of a rocky relationship with the media. At times, Marc Spector has been known to ask some antagonizing questions and yesterday he had one that got a reaction out of Leon Draisaitl. Spector asked Draisaitl if he had noticed the powerplay had improved after a slump, but Draisaitl said they never struggled.
The powerplay hasn't been the best we've seen it the last while, but they looked very, very focused on the last powerplay. You guys put together four scoring chances in a minute.
Uh, yeah I don't know if I would agree with that. Stats have been, I think pretty good, so. Our kill has been a main factor, but anyways.
It was hilarious to see Draisaitl shut down Spector's misinformed take on the success of the special teams, and do it with some humour too. The Oilers powerplay still has been one of the best in the league, but the team has been dominating more on special teams relatively because of the success of the penalty kill since Knoblauch took over, and Draisaitl recognizes that in the latter half of his response.
