Condors' Viljami Marjala following Howard and Hutson to NHL

The word out of Bakersfield is that forward prospect Viljami Marjala is making a strong case to be the next Condors' player to join the Oilers this season.
Prospect rising up AHL offensive ranks
Marjala has the offensive skill. He is slight, but he can work on that element. What I have been looking for is his battle level and with that his ability to create offence at 5v5, not just benefit from others' work. If Marjala can become a play driver at 5v5, then we have player who is knocking on the door of NHL games.

We've been hearing all year about forwards Hutson, Howard and Samaski's dominance in the AHL, and have even seen the former-two in an Edmonton Jersey.
Now, Viljami Marjala is being noticed for many of the same reasons. He is the third Condor to reach 30 points in the AHL this season, 35 in fact, with 10G and 25A over 38 games.
He has a high hockey-IQ and is quite capable of driving plays and a team's offense, as is the case in the video below.
Largely on his efforts, the Condors have climbed to 3rd in the AHL's Pacific Division with 50 points (22-10-6), only 2-points out of 1st place.
And Bakersfield's recent hot streak has moved the team into second place in terms of goals scored with 132, with four games in-hand on the number-1 team.
The 22-year old from Oulu, Finland is in year 1 of a 2-year ELC with Edmonton, at a cap hit of $872,500. He was drafted in 2021 by Buffalo in the 5th-round.
He signed with Edmonton as a free agent on June 7, 2025.
