In late November, Nugent-Bowman announced that he would be taking time away from work due to personal matters.
Now a few months later, Nugent-Bowman announced yesterday that he would no longer be working with the Athletic.
«I no longer work for The Athletic,» Nugent-Bowman wrote. «I want to thank my colleagues and readers from throughout my seven-plus years there.
Looking forward to the next chapter of my career.»

Though he did not say what his next chapter would be, his past efforts have been well-documented.
Daniel previously wrote about hockey for Sportsnet, The Hockey News, Yahoo Canada Sports and the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, according to his social media profile.
If you're a fan of the Oilers, you'll have read some of his articles and perhaps even followed him on social media, where his presence was widespread, with a following of 19K-plus on X alone.
«Loved and greatly appreciated your work, Daniel," one fan wrote, "wishing you all the best and look forward to hearing about your next endeavor."
Nugent-Bowman was a regular guest on some of the more popular hockey podcasts, including The Lowdown with Lowetide, where his analysis of the game was widely respected by Oilers' media-types.
Though the announcement of his retirement from The Athletic was sudden, there may been some suggestion of it.
