The Oilers dropped a disappointing loss to the rebuilding Philadelphia Flyers today, but Coach Knoblauch didn't agree with the fans that Stuart Skinner was a concern.

After the game, Coach Knoblauch instead pinned the blame for today's loss on frequent turnovers and poor defence on the players - which left Skinner out to dry.
"I think what really cost us was the turnovers & trying to make plays when there isn't a play to be made... All of them were just direct results of turnovers We left Skinner out there to dry.
Knoblauch is clearly defending his goaltender with these comments. While Skinner should've had a few more saves, the Oilers defence did break down multiple times in today's game.
Evan Bouchard was one player called out for numerous poor turnovers in today's game, two of which led to goals against.
At even strength, the Oilers simply didn't play well enough. A result like this can happen coming off a two week break in play, but the Flyers also had an equal break. Edmonton needs to be equal to the task, it's a reflection of work ethic.
The Oilers will need to shake off the rust quickly and get into shape before the trade deadline, which is now only six games away.
More details and analysis to come.
