City of Calgary has bold response to Toronto showing support for Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are taking on the moniker of Canada's Team in the Stanley Cup Final, and although some areas are embracing the Oilers, Calgary can't find themselves to do it.
The City of Toronto literally held the biggest form of support for the Oilers by projecting the CN Tower Edmonton's blue and orange.

Toronto showing their support for the Oilers as Canada's team is one thing, but it's entirely different for Calgary. As a close provincial rival, there's no chance Calgary would show that level of support for Edmonton.
The Calgary Tower put out a statement letting fans know that it would be lit up blue and orange today, but it's for the annual Calgary Brain Tumour Foundation walk.
Even though the rivalry isn't as strong in Ontario, even Leafs fans were upset to see their city openly cheering for another NHL team.
In Calgary, it would be 10 times worse for Flames fans to see open support for the Oilers. On the flip side too, Edmontonians wouldn't be happy to see the city lit up Red and Orange for Calgary, or Blue and Green for Vancouver.
However, there still is a significant contingent of Canadians across the country who are pulling for any team to break the 1993 Cup drought. On that end, the Edmonton Oilers are fully embracing the support across the country.
Heading into Game 2, the Oilers are in great position to take a commanding lead on home ice and capture the first Stanley Cup in Canada in 32 years, and the first in the Connor McDavid era.
