Stuart Skinner's wife reveals brutal threats to family in new interview

In a new interview with the Breaking the Ice Podcast, Stuart's wife Chloe spoke about threats they received to their family regarding Skinner's play in the crease.
We have a very passionate fanbase, and the people here, they live and breathe for the Oilers. Tale as old as time is that goalies, he's the punching bag of it. And this year definitely got intense. There were times security had to be involved.

We got a lot, I specifically, my DMs can be filled with death threats towards the kids, to myself. Anonymous accounts, hiding behind their screens, it can get really ugly. People wanting, threatening to come, if they ever see us they're gonna take us out.

It gets intense. When I do read those, I do get really scared.

- Chloe Skinner
Skinner absolutely struggled this season, seeing his save percentage drop well below league average to .896 through 51 games. The struggles continued in the playoffs, leading him to lose the net after 2 games with his save percentage in the low .800s.
Since regaining the net though, Skinner is playing with the full confidence he needs to carry the Oilers to a Cup. His save percentage has rebounded now to .904 in 11 playoff games, an incredible bounce back after the beginning of the year.
This year was undoubtedly tough on Stuart Skinner, but the Edmonton Oilers stuck by him at every turn. Now he's on a roll, and in position to deliver a Stanley Cup to his hometown team - with will make him an icon in this city for life.
