At the NHL's Four Nations Faceoff earlier this year, Connor McDavid was the only Oilers player to represent Team Canada. It's great to see a few more in consideration for the 2026 Olympics in Italy.
4 Edmonton Oilers invited to Team Canada Training Camp
McDavid was an obvious pick for Team Canada, but the Oilers maybe should've had some other players make last year's 4 Nations Team.
Evan Bouchard has proven to be an elite two-way defender and playoff performer, and Zach Hyman undeniably plays Team Canada style hockey. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is a great two-way veteran center, but he'll be hard pressed to beat out the other elite talent and make the team.
Hockey Canada unveiled their full list of 42 invitees for their Men's National Team, as well as their Women's and Para Hockey teams. All players will be invited to Calgary in late August to partake in on and off the ice activities in preparation for the Olympics.
»As part of the road to Italy, Hockey Canada has invited 92 players from its men's, women's and para hockey teams to attend its National Teams Orientation Camp, set for Aug. 26-28 in Calgary.
The National Teams Orientation Camp is a three-day, off-ice event with players and staff from all three programs, which will include presentations, team-building opportunities, team meetings and media opportunities in preparation for the upcoming season.»

The NHL will break for the Olympics next season, as the international tournament runs from February 11-22 in Milan, Italy. It's the first time the NHL has been to the Olympics since 2014 in Sochi.
Hockey fans are pumped to see the return of international hockey with a full tournament like the Olympics. Hopefully more Oilers than just McDavid make the squad, but every Canadian hockey fan will be fully dialled into the best on best tournament either way.
