The Edmonton Oilers had a dominant preseason game over the Winnipeg Jets, with a few young players standing out as real offensive talents.
The Oilers have had a number of new young players and free agent signings at camp this year, and many of them have impressed so far through the preseason. Last night's game may have been their best, with a few players looking like real offensive threats.
3 Oilers newcomers stand out in great preseason effort vs Winnipeg Jets
In the Oilers 4-0 win over the Jets,
David Tomasek, Josh Samanski, and
Noah Philp were the standouts for Edmonton who look like real NHL talents.
Of the three players only Tomasek appears slated for the NHL lineup. He hasn't found the scoresheet yet much in the preseason, but his smooth passing and offensive instincts was on display on a play with Samaski.
The two European free agent signings connected for a beautiful goal and both made great plays through most the game. Tomasek's skilled pass and Samanski's lethal shot look to be talents that will make a difference.
Oilers depth center Noah Philp is also looking to crack the team, and last night's performance will help his resume with management.
Philp's known for playing a solid defensive game, but he also showed off some offensive prowess with a kick wrist shot to score against the Jets last night.
Hopefully these players continue to impress in the final weeks of preseason, and can set themselves up for a great season in 2025-26, and develop further to crack the NHL roster full time.
