With the deadline ramping up, teams are having to worry about the health of their players in their final games with them. One team who has been rumoured to sell since pretty much the first month of the season has been the Ottawa Senators. They have many pieces who can be sold and are tied to very short-term contracts. This can be ideal for buyers who are looking to go all in and pay for 1-2 years of a certain player. One of their more attractive pieces has been Vladimir Tarasenko, who it seems like the sens have been able to find a trade partner for.

It seems like the Panthers have all but finished a trade for Tarasenko as they push for a run to the Stanley Cup. Tarasenko has been one of the bigger names left on the market and it's scary to see how Florida looks after this acquisition.

Tarasenko has 17 goals and 41 points in 57 games on a very rough team and Florida is willing to go out on a limb to hope that he can get back to the game he once had. Tarasenko has Cup winning pedigree and brings a ton to Florida's top 6.

Tarasenko carries a cap hit of $5M until the end of this year, so it'll be interesting to see if the Panthers want to re-sign him after the season. Two picks may not be a bad price for Florida to acquire him, but we'll have to wait and see what the actual return ends up being.
