Since being trade from the Colorado Avalanche back in 2019, Tyson Barrie has never reclaimed his reputation as a quality offensive defenceman. Through his time with the Leafs and Oilers, Barrie largely underdelivered on offensive contributions, and disappointed with his defensive play.
Yesterday, Predators GM confirmed the report in a radio interview, and ripped Barrie extensively for his play and attitude in Nashville.
Trotz went on to add that he was very disappointed in Barrie's reaction to being healthy scratched, and added that the scratch was warranted based off his poor play. Trotz even said he wanted Barrie to come here and win in Nashville, not retire and fizzle out of the league.
To close the interview, Trotz said he was also disappointed that this information was leaked to the media, but that he would still accommodate Barrie's trade request. In the near future, we'll have to keep an eye out for a trade.
