It was revealed shortly after the Stanley Cup was awarded that Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk played in the Stanley Cup finals with a torn abductor muscle.

Tkachuk was interviewed by Darren Pang where he revealed that he sustained the injury during the Four Nations faceoff and had played through the playoffs and the finals with this injury.

Tkachuk became stronger though the finals while injured

Through the bulk of his journey through the Eastern Conference, Tkachuk's game appeared to be timid and nowhere near dominant as he was last year in the Stanley Cup finals.
As the playoffs were on in as the cup finals began, it appeared that he found his legs and was able to be more important especially on the score sheet as he had scored several goals in the last couple of games against the Oilers.
Despite being injured, Tkachuk was quick to take a shot at the Oilers again as he did last year when he said he hates the Oilers and now declared the Florida Panthers a dynasty.
That statement will likely burn through many Oilers fans as they had to deal with him when he was a Calgary Flames for several years.
In addition to Tkachuk, Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart were also playing through major injuries.

Panthers dunk on Oilers after Stanley Cup Win

After calling themselves a dynasty, Tkachuk changed his tune on the Oilers. Earlier in the playoffs he spoke highly of Edmonton, but after the Cup Win, the Panthers played the Oilers win song and said their team was more than individuals - likely a shot at McDavid and Draisaitl.
The Florida Panthers will have several questions that will surround the team this offseason even though the team has gone to the Stanley Cup final three times and has won back-to-back.
Several prominent players including newly minted playoff MVP Sam Bennett, defenseman Aaron Ekblad and Brad Marchand are all slated to become unrestricted free agents, and it remains to be seen on whether the team can keep them altogether or begin another retool.
It's safe to say with two cups under their belt and three Stanley Cup final appearances, if the team were to take a step back the Florida Panthers organization will have plenty to cheer about including Matthew Tkachuk.
