NHL insider Pierre LeBrun revealed a major issue that has plagued the Stanley Cup finals and other rounds within these playoffs at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise Florida.

During game three, LeBrun took note of the extremely poor ice conditions that had the puck bouncing around chaotically and making it very difficult to play with constant repairs to be done to the ice.

Poor ice conditions nothing new for Southern NHL teams

these kind of poor ice conditions are not a new issue for the NHL as many of their teams are in the southern belt of the United States where in the months of June can be extremely hot and humid.
These NHL organizations need to spend more money to keep their buildings cold enough so that their ice can maintain its form and it's toughness.
Despite all their efforts Mother Nature always has more in store when it comes to heat especially in the State of Florida which has been under heavy heat for the past several weeks.
Luckily, this poor ice has not resulted in any major injuries to NHL players as that has occurred in the past as skates get caught in ruts in the ice causing players to damage their groins or knees.

Lebrun gives suggestion many feel would solve this issue

Lebrun commented further in his tweet that the NHL should change around its schedule so that the Stanley Cup would be awarded by or before the end of May and prevent hockey from spilling into June.
Many pundits and players around the league feel that moving the schedule earlier into late September rather than middle to late October would be better for the league and its fans as many NHL fans are preparing for their summer vacations.
While it's not known if the schedule or changing the schedule is on the discussion in the new collective bargaining agreement that's been negotiated currently.
Many feel it's worth investigating as the NHL continues to expand it's reached within the world, and potentially with new teams on the horizon.
