The Edmonton Oilers have lost star forward Zach Hyman with injury for the entire Stanley Cup Finals, and today he sent an emotional message to Oilers fans.
Hyman has officially undergone surgery for a broken wrist, which will hold him out until the beginning of next season. It's a gutting loss for the Oilers.

Taking to Instagram today, Hyman admitted this week has been tough to deal with, but he's grateful for the support around him and is ready to cheer on the team to a Cup.
An emotional week, but I'm grateful to be back in the SCF. Thank you to everyone who reached out to show support, it truly means a lot. I can't wait to support the boys in any way I can!

It's absolutely gutting personally to Hyman that he can't be on the ice to compete for the Cup, but he's taking the best approach he can - just cheering on the team and still being a good teammate.
It's clear that the Oilers miss Hyman's presence in the locker room. After their conference final win, the Oilers FaceTimed Hyman to speak with him. He was also the first player to declare the Oilers would be back in the Cup Finals this year.
On the ice too, Hyman is an irreplaceable loss for the Oilers. His relentless forecheck, scoring touch should the net, and physical play has been incredible all through the postseason.
It's great to see Hyman address the fans as well, who surely will be missing him too through the Final. He's an incredible player and person, exactly who should be an Edmonton Oiler.
