Rumblings of Hyman potentially nearing a deal emerged earlier this week and were reported here on OilersDaily, now it appears the work is done.
Zach Hyman was directly named as a new owning partner of the Bulldogs, but the purchase was made in cooperation with his family.
The Bulldogs had only been relocated to the city of Brantford two years ago, and according to Daily Faceoff, they'll be moving back into Hamilton once renovations to their arena are completed.
The construction is expected to begin this year with a goal of opening in 2027.
Zach Hyman began his Junior Hockey career with the Hamilton Red Wings in the OJHL, so perhaps there's a tie in there with his decision to become the owner of the their top junior hockey team.
Zach's father Stuart is a long time hockey businessman and an experienced owner of minor hockey league teams in Ontario.
According to Sportskeeda, Stuart Hyman owns the International Scouting Services company that scouts and ranks prospects, and at one point, owned 90 Junior Hockey Teams. Stuart Hyman has now resigned from ownership on most of those teams.
Zach Hyman himself is a growing businessman too alongside his NHL career. According to OilersNation, Hyman is the CEO of a gaming company called SoaR, developing a new line of bubblegum, and of course, a children's author.
It's quite a cool business move to see an Oilers forward purchase a team of their own, especially a player making half the salary of some other Oilers stars. Best of luck to Hyman in his new venture.
