Edmonton Oilers insider reveals what players truly thought of Evander Kane inside locker room
Oilers insider Bob Stauffer joined the Donnie and Dhali Show to discuss the Kane trade, and revealed that Oilers players actually appreciated Kane inside the locker room for his physical role in the ice - there was never any issues in Edmonton.
To be frank with you, I didn't hear a lot of b*tching about Evander Kane from the other players. What I did hear was an appreciation that he could do things that's kind of a lost art in today's facets of the game.
- Bob Stauffer
Kane has some well documented personal issues in his past, but seemed to really mature over his time in Edmonton.
He was deeply involved in charity efforts off the ice in Edmonton, especially with Indigenous communities in north Alberta, and children with terminal illness.
There were certainly some times that Kane showed a bristly personality on the bench, but it mostly looked like pro hockey players passionately talking out the game.
Kane is definitely a big personality, but one that's matured, and that's not a bad thing. Teams need the big personalities and physical players like Evander Kane to shine in big moments.
While he has his downfalls as a player for sure, it'll be tough for the Oilers to go up against Kane on the rival Vancouver Canucks.
