Team Canada holds team meeting, appears to make decision on starting goalie
Team Canada unfortunately dropped a massive game to Team USA in yesterday's 4 Nations Faceoff game, and now Coach Jon Cooper revealed the team is holding a meeting and have appeared to have chosen their starting goalie.
Coach Jon Cooper reveals Canada held Team Meeting, won't commit to goaltender
Team Canada has now arrived in Boston to play the back half of the tournament, and Jon Cooper revealed that tonight they'll host a team meeting before a critical game against Finland. Cooper didn't commit to a goaltender, but a hint emerged from practice.
The meeting will be massively important for such a short tournament, and a rallying call for a must-win game against Finland. Team Canada needs a regulation win to clinch a rematch with Team USA for first place.
Before their meeting, Team Canada held an optional skate which saw both
Samuel Montembeault and Adin Hill the ice. Usually, a goalie absent from optional practice is in line for the next start.
If Binnington gets the start against Team Finland tomorrow, he'll almost surely get the start for the final game as well. Right now, Canada's comparatively weak goaltending is casting light on the apparent snub of Capitals goalie
Logan Thompson.
Team Canada had a rough night of travel delays while leaving Montreal during a snowstorm last night. Canada didn't arrive in Boston until 6:00am, possibly tiring out the players significantly.
Their next game against Team Finland will control their fate for the rest of the tournament, so Team Canada will be fully dialled in to give their best effort.
