Oilers insider Jim Matheson is reporting GM Stan Bowman is reaching out to agents of Viktor Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner to waive no trade clauses, as well as exploring moves for John Klingberg.

The Oilers wings are now incredibly crowded heading into the playoffs, with some veterans like Skinner looking like they'll be out of the final lineup. Moving any player could clear up cap space for one final trade.

Oilers asking Arvidsson and Skinner about no-trade clauses, exploring moves for John Klingberg

Oilers insider Jim Matheson believes management will be speaking to agents of all involved players, which would clear cap space for one final addition perhaps on forward or in net.
Suspect Bowman is talking to agents of Arvidsson and Skinner to see if they'll maybe waive their no-move clauses so Oiler GM can clear up some money to add scoring winger for Draisaitl. As for Klingberg on D, who knows where he fits now after Walman trade.
Neither Jeff Skinner nor Viktor Arvidsson have been a perfect fit for the Oilers this season. Both veteran forwards have underperformed their offensive expectations, and Jeff Skinner has routinely been a healthy scratch.
Skinner finds himself out of the lineup quite often at this point, which makes him the most likely forward to be dealt. The Oilers would be able to clear his $3M contract by trading the 32 year old sniper.

Oilers exploring moves for John Klingberg

If the Oilers want to clear more salary cap, they could trade their recently signed defenceman John Klingberg. According to another update from Matheson, Klingberg does not have a no-move clause, and may not fit into the Oilers playoff lineup plans.
Klingberg does not have NMC. Klingberg deserves major props for coming back from hip issues but with addition of puck mover Walman, John's skillset seems redundant on blueline right now
The Oilers have acquired another pick moving defenceman now in Jake Walman, which could push John Klingberg out of the lineup entirely.
Klingberg has done as advertised to the Edmonton Oilers - a skilled offensive player and passer, but weak defensively. With Walman also on the blue line, the Oilers just don't need Klingberg's style of play too.
The 32 year old Swedish defenceman has actually performed well with the Oilers overall, with 4 points in 10 games and a rating of +2. Perhaps that could entice another team to take on his $1.7M contract.
With just few hours left until the deadline, the Oilers will have to get these moves in quickly. Hopefully they can make one more move to improve the team, either at forward or in net.
