Oilers GM Stan Bowman directly answers timeline for Connor McDavid contract

Oilers GM Stan Bowman has just revealed that there's currently still no timeline for Connor McDavid's contract extension in Edmonton.
It's obviously not ideal there's no timeline for the signing coming from the General Manager, but he still indicated he's fully confident McDavis staying with the Oilers.

Speaking to Oilers insider Bob Stauffer in a new interview, Stan Bowman said there's still no timeline for an extension with McDavid.
I've had really good conversations with Judd since the season ended. I honestly tried to give Connor his space, respecting the athlete and their timeline.
I don't have a timeline update, but I do expect to have some conversations with them soon and hopefully get that wrapped up.

McDavid is currently set to travel to France this weekend for Leon Draisaitl's wedding, and insider Bob Stauffer has hinted that something could get down just after they return to Canada.
Obviously, there's no real negotiation happening with Connor McDavid. Whatever their star player demands, the Oilers will pay up gladly to keep the captain on the team.
Most recently, insiders have speculated that McDavid will command between $16-17M on a contract less than the maximum 8 year term. Taking a short contract would pressure the Oilers into contending more, and allow McDavid a higher payday in a few years.
With insiders still fully confident a contract extension will be signed, there's no need for fans to worry about the lack of progress so far - a deal will get done.
