Leon Draisaitl has scored his 4th overtime playoff goal this season, making NHL history as the most in a single playoff run.
The NHL has formally declared Draisaitl the playoff overtime king for the historic achievement, one that exemplifies just how clutch
the Oilers superstar is.
Leon Draisaitl sets NHL record for most overtime playoff goals in one season
It was exceptionally close a must-win situation of Game 4 overtime, and Draisaitl did what he does best to win the game by accident.
Draisaitl made his classic move to lower his should and make a drive to the net, which was good enough to squeak one through
Sergei Bobrovsky.
It was his second overtime winner of this series already, after he also won Game 1 for the Oilers. So far, he's really directly responsible for both wins in the Cup Final.
Draisaitl's 4th overtime winner this season couldn't have come at a better time. The Oilers will now be heading back to Alberta with a best of 3 series, with home ice advantage, for the Stanley Cup. The Oilers will love their chances there.
If Edmonton does pull off the series win, this moment and all of his previous overtime winners will be a huge case for Leon Draisaitl to win the
Conn Smythe Trophy.
He missed out on the Hart this year, but historic clutch performances in the playoffs matter a whole lot more. Draisaitl's now up to an absurd 32 points in 20 playoff games, truly bringing his best in the most important moments. Hopefully, he and the Oilers are rewarded with a Stanley Cup.
