NHL fans rip Leon Draisaitl for locker room character after new video surfaces

Through the playoffs, the Oilers have provided tons of behind the scenes looks in the locker room, also including Connor McDavid chirping trainer Brad Harrison.

A video released yesterday showed Leon Draisaitl walking through the tunnel to the dressing room, and tossing his gloves to trainer Brad Harrison in a purposefully misdirected shot - as Draisaitl always does.

This has been a long running joke between Draisaitl and Harrison, but NHL fans were completely ignorant to that and the quirks of a locker room. Tons of fans came out criticizing Draisaitl's character for being disrespectful to the equipment staff.

This is nothing more than a quirk between Draisaitl and the trainer that's been in the locker room for his entire career. Harrison was hired by the Oilers as the assistant equipment trainer at the start of the 2013-14 season, and has seen the entire transformation of the Oilers roster.

You don't go that long with the same coworkers without developing some back and forth jokes, and a deep personal relationship. Connor McDavid even invited Harrison to his wedding last summer.

Outside NHL fans aren't thinking about what could possibly be going on in a locker room, but are coloured against the Oilers for sure. It definitely doesn't matter at all for the Oilers, or for Brad Harrison - they know what's real in the room.
