Now 53 years old, hockey legend Jaromir Jagr is hoping to return for his 38th professional season with the Kladno Knights.
At the beginning of last season, Jagr announced that it would be his final year. Although he currently doesn't have a contract, he'll be attending training camp with the goal of ramping up for another year.
Jaromir Jagr taking major step to return for 38th professional season
The Kladno Knights' training camp has already begun with the Extraliga season coming up, and Jagr has already been seen back out in the ice.
Jagr currently doesn't have a contract, and may have to earn his roster spot back in training camp. He actually previously owned the Kladno Knights, but most recent reports revealed he's selling his majority share in the team.
If Jagr is able to come back for another quality year in his age 54 season, it will just add to the legendary career he's already carved out. His production has definitely dipped, with only 16 points in 39 goals last year, but it's incredible he's even still playing.
There's a solid argument to be made that Jagr is a top 3 NHL player of all time - and including his overseas play, he may have the most impressive hockey career in history. With 1923 career points in 1733 career games, he ranks second all time in NHL scoring only behind Wayne Gretzky.
Jagr is a special talent, who has also recognized Oilers forward Connor Mcdavid as the next coming talent of a generation - even saying he has God in him.
When it's all said and done and Jagr finally retires, he'll be instantly inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame - and hockey fans across the world will celebrate his career.
