The Edmonton Oilers have taken to the ice in Los Angeles before a critical Game 5 against the Kings, and will be rolling with the same lineup as last game.
Edmonton Oilers will run same lineup as Game 4 in return to Los Angeles
Oilers reporters at practice have confirmed the same lineup will be deployed tonight.
These combinations have brought Oilers
steady success. Nugent-Hopkins joining McDavid and Hyman on the top line is their longest tenured line, and Draisaitl's wingers also consistently delivering solid efforts.
The bottom six will likely continue to be fluid, and if the situation arises, Knoblauch will surely run McDavjd with Draisaitl again.
Oilers should look at re-aligning defence pairs
While this lineup did win the Oilers the last two games, one change they may want to look at involves their defence pairings.
The pairing
Darnell Nurse and
Evan Bouchard has produced too many shaky moments in their own zone, and should be broken up. Bouchard has delivered solid results with Walman, and Nurse seems to thrive next to Kulak.
With
Troy Stecher also returning from injury, the Oilers may take the opportunity to run 11 forward and 7 defenceman eventually. In that instance, Janmark would be the most likely player to come out.
The Oilers will have a tough task tonight to get back in the win column in a hostile environment in Los Angeles. They'll need a much better effort to open the game and stay in it, instead of relying on another comeback win. They need to meet the intensity the Kings will bring off puck drop.
