The Oilers made a surprise last-minute free agent signing of Jack Roslovic, and it appears he truly did want to end up in Edmonton.
Insider reports surfaced earlier this offseason that Roslovic declined a multi-year deal from the Oilers to hold out for more salary. In the end, he chose Edmonton over several other teams.
Free agent Jack Roslovic declined higher paying deals to join Oilers
According to an update from Elliotte Friedman on the most recent episode of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Roslovic ended up declining higher-paying deals to sign with Edmonton.
First of all, someone told me that Roslovic had a two-year deal out there
I heard the rumor was that Edmonton offered three times four to Roslovic that he turned down. I was told that from a pretty good source, but I had people dispute that
He had to make a decision, and he chose Edmonton because he felt it was the best place to have him succeed.

The Edmonton Oilers have become one of the most preferential destinations for players across the NHL. The winning culture and prospect of playing for a championship alongside
Connor McDavid has been an asset for the Oilers to attract and retain players.
Roslovic is an extremely unique situation as a 22-goal scorer signing this late into the season, and it's great the Oilers are able to capitalize on it.
He's expected to enter the Oilers lineup sometime on their upcoming 5 game road trip, or after Coach Knoblauch deems he's completed enough reps in practice.
Hopefully Roslovic fits in well with the Oilers, and he can reach his full potential as a depth 5 on 5 scorer and help the team finally win the Cup.
