Preseason for all NHL teams does not mean very much in terms of importance and standings, all teams are trying to adjust their lineups to make themselves ready for the new season that will be again next week.
Former Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto had an interesting offseason as he was dealt to the Detroit Red Wings by the Edmonton Oilers to clear his salary. The Red Wings ended up buying him out and he became an unrestricted free agent. This led to the Seattle Kraken signing him to a one-year $1.5 million contract.
Even in preseason, I feel he managed to get that as he scored the tying goal for the Kraken against the Oilers. As the play unfolded, Yamamoto found a juicy rebound and put it past the flailing Jack Campbell.
