Patrick Kane Sends a Message to The Maple Leafs: Good News For The Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers have been rumoured to hold odds of favourites to acquire Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane.
The 33 year-old is the most coveted player ahead of the NHL trade deadline and before the Toronto Maple Leafs surprise many, trading for Ryan O'Reilly, most rumours had Kane heading to Toronto especially after Elliotte Friedman believed the Toronto was Kane's destination.
We don't know how true those rumours were but Kane sent the Leafs a message in a major way Sunday night scoring 3 goals and 1 assist in a 5-3 win, so if the Leafs decided they would take O'Reilly over Kane, message sent by Kane it was the wrong choice.
After the game Kane was asked about all the Toronto rumours, and his answer is good for Oilers fans as he revealed the Leafs were never his choice to play for saying:
"Patrick Kane didn't believe Toronto was a real possibility as a potential trade partner after Kane said, "I think there's a lot of different reports out there and not all of them are true. Gotta be careful what you listen to."
