In only nine days, on March 3, the NHL trade deadline will be over at 3PM Eastern, and the Chicago Blackhawks are ready for a hectic day. Sam Lafferty, Max Domi, Jake McCabe, and of course the obvious, Patrick Kane, if he decides to waive his no-movement clause, are just a few of the players the Chicago Blackhawks are supposedly shopping.
Patrick Kane has said he is still unsure, but it now appears that the Chicago Blackhawks will move a defenseman in their first trade, but not to Canada?
It's Jake McCabe, a defenseman with a very valuable $4 million yearly contract who many contending teams are expected to pursue. But, it might happen at any time since Jake McCabe apparently updated his no-trade list.
McCabe reportedly had a seven-team no-trade list that included all Canadian clubs, but it appears that list has been altered, but he still reportedly refuses to head to Canada.
This will certainly confirm that McCabe won't be willing to join the Edmonton Oilers, or even a Canadian team in general, despite earlier reports that the Oilers had expressed interest.
