The Edmonton Oilers are in a tough spot right now. They are currently on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. However, they are still very much in the playoff race so the last thing this team needs is added distractions.
The Oilers have been trying to deal Puljujarvi since last season when GM Ken Holland admitted he needed to figure out what to do with the young Finnish forward, who once had so much potential to be an NHL game breaker, but he essentially disappears at times when the games mattered most.
Puljujärvi has already went back to Finland instead of developing in the American Hockey League, and has been given numerous opportunities to be a top line guy including playing with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Puljujarvi is still only 24 and is a pending restricted free agent who makes $3 million against the cap, if f Holland wants to get rid up Puljujärvi he's going to have to give a willing team draft picks and or prospects to take him off their hands.
