Jay Woodcroft did not tell the media his starting goaltender yesterday, but it has now been revealed.
24-year-old Stuart Skinner is seen in the starters net during practice before tonight's game 5. Jack Campbell is in the other net taking shots from defenseman Philip Broberg.
This is interesting, Skinner was pulled two nights ago because of his poor performance, letting in 4 goals on 22 shots. Campbell came in and held the fort down, allowing Edmonton to complete a near comeback. The other thing is Jack is finally playing well, but Woodcroft is rolling with the young goalie.
Maybe this builds confidence in Skinner that there are people who believe in him after his poor performance. But this could also hurt him knowing Campbell is lingering if anything goes wrong, especially in a elimination game he'll have a shorter leash.
The Edmonton Oilers face off against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at 10 PM EST.
