With all eyes on Florida this past weekend for the NHL's All Star game, most of the fans are waiting for the regular season to return.
However, an interesting topic has came into discussion and that's the way regular season games are handled when to determine a winner. Before the NHL implemented a shootout after a five minute overtime games use to end in a tie.
Obviously no one wants to see ties but it seems a lot don't like the shoot-out either. In fact, Edmonton Oilers Captain Connor McDavid and Anaheim Ducks Troy Terry suggested that instead of the shootout teams should play a longer overtime?
I think this would be a great idea overtime is much more enjoyable than any shootouts and I think most would agree.
