It's been a wild ride as of late for newly acquired New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat. The 27 year-old was the captain of the Vancouver Canucks, a team Horvat personally said "He thought he'd be a Canuck for life."

However, after Canucks general manager Jim Rutherford knew he wasn't going to be able to re-sign Horvat, he was shockingly traded just before the NHL All-Star weekend.
Horvat who's having the best season of his career points wise would get a big pay day from the Islanders Gm Lou Lamoriello, signing Horvat to a 8 year $68 million dollar deal, with a annual salary of $8.5 million dollars.
What's crazy is after Lou Lamoriello signed Horvat to his new deal instead of giving a positive announcement like most GM's do, Lamoriello would seem to insult Horvat commenting on the deal saying:
"It's too long and too much money."

- Lou Lamoriello

Well that's quite the warm welcome Lou, I'm sure that makes Horvat feel great joining your team. Maybe if you didn't want to re-sign him maybe you shouldn't of traded for him to start with?
