Drew Doughty Sends a Threat to Connor McDavid Before Tonight's Matchup
The LA Kings' Drew Doughty recently made it clear that his team was not pleased with Connor McDavid's hit on Mikey Anderson during their last matchup in Edmonton. Doughty went on to state that while the Kings don't want to take unnecessary penalties, they have not forgotten about the incident and will not hesitate to retaliate if given the opportunity.
The message to McDavid is clear: the Kings will not tolerate any actions that put their players at risk. While it remains to be seen whether or not the Kings will follow through on their threat, this kind of tough talk is not uncommon in the NHL. Intimidation has long been a part of the game, and players will go to great lengths to protect their teammates and send a message to their opponents.
Drew Doughty said the Kings weren't happy with Connor McDavid's hit on Mikey Anderson in the last matchup in Edmonton. He said they haven't forgotten and don't want to take needless penalties, but
«If we get a chance to smack him, we're going to do it.»
It will be interesting to see how McDavid and the Oilers respond to Doughty's comments. Will they back down or step up to the challenge? Only time will tell.
