NHL confirms it for Quinn Hughes: Nominee for another NHL award
While there's no questioning what Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes can do on the ice off the ice, he's done a lot as well, especially for the community.
Because of that, the Canucks captain has been named Vancouver's nominee for the 2023-24 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is given out annually to a player who has shown leadership qualities on and off the ice, as well as contributing to the community."Leading by example! 👏

Earlier this season, Quinn Hughes founded an initiative called 'Team 43', where the Canucks captain donated four tickets to every home game to first responders around British Columbia. Hughes' grandfather was a firefighter in New York City for three decades, and he understands the critical role first responders play in the community.
"I think it's important to do good in the community and do nice things for people that sacrifice so much. They put themselves in harm's way for the community and the city, so it's just something nice I felt I could do." Hughes said in an article back in December.
He added, "The work they do and their commitment to it is admirable. Talking to the people in Kelowna, they were working 40-hour shifts and hearing stories about how long their shifts can be - 18 hours, 19 hours. It's a scary job being a first responder."

Congratulations to Quinn Hughes on receiving the Canucks' nomination for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. The winner will be chosen later following a vote from a committee featuring NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and previous trophy winners.
