Former Canuck Linden Vey finds new home for 2024-25 season

Former Vancouver Canucks forward Linden Vey, who has spent the last eight seasons overseas, has found a new home for the 2024-25 season.

In a post on their website, KHL club Avangard Omsk announced that they've agreed to terms on a contract with Linden Vey for the 2024-25 season. Financial details of Linden Vey's contract were not disclosed by the team.


Vey, 32, was drafted in the fourth round in 2009 by the Los Angeles Kings. Following the team's Stanley Cup win in 2014, Vey was traded to the Vancouver Canucks for a second-round in that year's draft. In 116 games for the Canucks, Vey recorded 39 points (14 goals, 25 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a minus-17.


The Wakaw, Saskatchewan native spent the 2023-24 season in the German DEL playing for Adler Mannheim where he put up 39 points (eight goals, 31 assists) in 38 games. He went on to add seven assists in seven playoff games before leaving the club.
