Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller had a huge weight lifted off his shoulder last summer. There were rumours that the team was exploring the possibility of moving him before his extension kicked in on July 1st, but ultimately, they decided to hold onto him, which was the right move.

The decision to hold onto J.T. Miller was the right call by management as he's been arguably the Canucks' best player throughout the 2023-24 season and has been remarkably consistent.

On Tuesday night, the Canucks were playing their final home game of the regular season, and, as they do every year, handed out team awards such as Most Valuable Player, Most Exciting Player, etc. The team gave J.T. Miller both of the awards above - the Cyclone Taylor Trophy for MVP and named Most Exciting Player.

"Emotion and heart at the centre of his game.

Last is our 2023-24 Cyclone Taylor Trophy for "Most Valuable Player"... J.T. Miller!" The Canucks said.

"Say it with us now: 🗣️ J. T. MILLER 🗣️

Getting the crowd fired up night after night at Rogers Arena, the Pavel Bure Award for "Most Exciting Player" goes to J.T. Miller! 🤩" The Canucks said.

Miller, 31, is having the best season of his NHL career so far, with one game to go against Winnipeg tomorrow night before the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin. In 81 games, Miller has 103 points (37 goals, 66 assists), 58 penalty minutes and is a plus-32.

The East Palestine, Ohio native is a huge reason for the Canucks' success this season, along with Quinn Hughes, Thatcher Demko, Elias Pettersson, and Brock Boeser, among others, helping the team win their first division title in 11 years.
